'How many days do I need in Santiago?' is one of the most common questions we get. Here's our local recommendation:

1 day: Just the essentials — historic downtown plus the Skyline funicular tour for views.

2 days: Add Sky Costanera and the modern Sanhattan district, plus a culinary experience in Lastarria.

3 days (our minimum recommendation): Day-trip to a Maipo Valley winery like Haras de Pirque — Chile's wine country is unmissable.

4-5 days: Add Valparaíso and Viña del Mar on the coast, or hike the Cajón del Maipo in the Andes.

Any shorter than 3 days and you're really just scratching the surface.
