This Privacy Policy explains how Unplanned Detours SPA, RUT 78.071.208-2 ("Unplanned Detours", "we", "us"), a company organized under the laws of Chile, collects, uses, and protects your personal data, in accordance with Chilean Law No. 19.628 and, as of 1 December 2026, Law No. 21.719 on the Protection and Processing of Personal Data.
1. Data we collect
(a) Inquiry & corporate forms — name, email, phone, company name, tax ID (RUC/VAT/EIN), group size, message; (b) Bookings — booking and contact details processed through our booking provider, Bokun; (c) Newsletter — your email address when you subscribe; (d) Website analytics & cookies — including data collected via Google Analytics and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel, such as device/browser type, pages visited, and approximate location (see section 9).
2. How we use your data
To respond to inquiries and quote events; to process and manage tour bookings; to send newsletters you opted into; to measure and improve our website and marketing; and to comply with legal obligations.
3. Legal basis
We process your data based on your consent (e.g. newsletter, non-essential cookies), the performance of a service or contract you request (bookings), and our legitimate business interests.
4. Sharing
We share data only with providers necessary to deliver our services — including Bokun (bookings), our email/communication tools, and analytics/advertising providers (Google, Meta) — and where required by law. We do not sell your personal data.
5. International transfers & security
Your data may be processed by providers located outside Chile (e.g. Bokun, Google, Meta). We guarantee that such transfers take place under adequate security standards or contractual clauses that protect your privacy. We have implemented technical and organizational measures to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of your information, preventing unauthorized access or leaks.
6. Retention period
We will keep your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in Section 2, or while a legal retention obligation exists (e.g. tax periods for invoicing). Once that period has elapsed, we will proceed to its deletion or irreversible anonymization.
7. Your rights
You have the right to: (i) Access your data; (ii) Rectify inaccurate information; (iii) Delete your data when it is no longer necessary; (iv) Object to processing for marketing purposes; (v) request the Portability of your data in a structured format; and (vi) request the temporary Blocking of processing. To exercise these rights, email hola@unplannedetours.com. We will respond within a maximum of 30 days in accordance with Law No. 21.719. You may also lodge a complaint with the Agencia de Protección de Datos Personales.
8. Security & data breaches
We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. In the event of a personal data breach that poses a risk to you, we will notify the supervisory authority without undue delay and, where required, within 72 hours of becoming aware, and will notify affected individuals where the risk is high.
9. Cookies & analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies, including Google Analytics and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel, to understand site usage and support marketing. Non-essential/tracking cookies are loaded only after you consent via our cookie banner. You can accept, reject, or change your preferences at any time through the banner or your browser settings. Essential cookies necessary for the site to function do not require consent. We also use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics that do not identify you or set cookies; because they collect no personal data, they run without consent.
10. Newsletter
We send marketing emails only to people who explicitly opt in (separately from making a booking). Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also unsubscribe by emailing hola@unplannedetours.com.
